The present study investigates the adjustment of teachers working in urban and rural schools of Rewari district, Haryana. Teacher adjustment is crucial for effective teaching and overall school performance, influencing personal, professional, and social aspects of life. A total sample of 60 teachers was selected, including 30 from rural schools (15 male, 15 female) and 30 from urban schools (15 male, 15 female). The study examines gender, demographic, and location-based differences in adjustment using the adjustment inventory developed by S.K. Mangal. Findings reveal significant differences in adjustment between urban and rural male teachers, urban and rural female teachers, as well as between male and female teachers overall. The study highlights the importance of professional adjustment for teachers to enhance teaching effectiveness, maintain well-being, and promote a positive school environment. These findings can guide educational planners and policymakers in improving teacher support and training programs.
