Abstract:

Jammu and Kashmir, India's northernmost union region, is a veritable wonderland. It has unity in variety because it contains several cultures, ethnic communities, and tribes. This study examined the livelihood patterns and educational status of the Gujjar and Bakerwal Tribes of Koteranka (Budhal), Jammu and Kashmir. According to the survey, the Gujjar and Bakarwal communities in Jammu and Kashmir are destitute and underprivileged. However, the constant efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir government's Department of Tribal Affairs, as well as the comprehensive vision of the central government for tribals, have resulted in a major improvement in the lives of tribals in Jammu and Kashmir.
