Abstract:

In the education and learning process, the educators have at their disposal a vast range of technological aids to facilitate the process, such as television, radio, computers, the internet, email, blogs, audio cassettes, PowerPoint presentations, and videos. The last two decades have seen rapid technological growth, which has transformed the learning institutions, greatly influencing the education process and people's mode of interaction and working in society. This technological advancement has brought in innovative models of teaching, and multimedia has played a central role in developing more efficient and interactive learning spaces. The purpose of this study is to evaluate students' perspectives on the utilization of multimedia in order to augment knowledge among higher secondary school students. A stratified random sampling method was applied for recruiting participants from three different school types. Data were collected from 300 students using structured questionnaires. The findings showed that most students had a positive attitude toward the use of multimedia in knowledge development. Furthermore, there were significant differences in students' attitudes based on variables like gender, locality of school, type of institution, medium of instruction, and parental education. There were no significant differences regarding the area of students' interest in subjects or the type of school.
