The entire world is experiencing technological expansions in innumerable ways to simplify their life which has fetched big change in our society and everyday life of the people. Due to the growth and revolution in social media, educators are continuously looking for their potential use in the education field by using social media through active learning. The present study was conducted to assess students’ perception regarding the use of social media as a learning platform. Responses were gathered by using a self-structured questionnaire and through focus group discussion with 100 undergraduate students of Kamrup district of Assam. Frequency and simple percentage were used to give statistical treatment to the collected data. The study revealed that most (67%) of the undergraduate students have positive perception which in turn reveals that the use of social media is not forever destructive in nature, but it can be better used as a learning platform.
