In India, male migration has grown to be a significant social and economic phenomena. Migration is typically examined in relation to remittances and other national economic effects. Aside from that, however, male migration can also have a bigger effect on women who are left behind, an area that is typically ignored in many research. The impact of male migration and the home dynamics of the women left behind in the Pathanamthitta district are the main topics of this essay. Additionally, the study shows that women in migrant homes are more significantly associated with certain socioeconomic factors in household dynamics than women in non-migrant households. Simultaneously, the decision-making power index demonstrates that women from migrant families have greater flexibility in terms of decision-making authority and mobility. This paper examines the effects of male migration on gender and gender-sensitive policy approaches.
