Public administration plays a pivotal role in rural development in India, influencing the social, economic, and political landscape of rural areas. This article examines the impact of public administration on rural development highlighting the challenges, opportunities, and reform initiatives. Using mixed-methods approach, this study analyzes secondary data, case studies, and expert opinions to provide insights into the complex relationships between public administration, rural development, and governance. The findings suggest that while public administration has made significant contributions to rural development, bureaucratric inefficiencies, resource constraints, and disparities in service delivery hinder its effectiveness. The article proposes decentralization, e-governance, citizen engagement, capacity building, and transparency measures to strengthen public administration and enhance rural development outcomes.
